The service was unobtrusive and professional, the room layout was good and dinner was excellent
The room was stuffy during the night and the double bed was made up with two single matresses.

The hotel was perhaps a step back in time but a good step back and everything was pristine and charming. The staff was absolutely lovely, kind and helpful.

Lovely find, the fastest wifi we have experienced in France and such a comfortable bed! Ideal, sorry we were only staying the one night!

This is a hotel of great charm, peace and quiet, with an owner-manager who is really hands on, and for whom nothing is too much trouble. The pool and gardens are lovely (not that common in the central Pyrenees) and the chef knows how to produce a delicious and interesting menu with local ingredients. The breakfasts (French, not the ubiquitous buffet) are particularly good, especially the patisserie. If you want to walk or cycle, there are well-signposted routes near at hand. Equally, if you enjoy music, there are concerts at St Bertrand (~15min easy drive away) most weeks between mid-July and mid-September.
I liked it all. The comment that it is hard to find is not valid if you use a SatNav, and it is also signposted from the neighbouring villages.

No shower. Says hair dryer provided which is basically an antique. VERY overpriced €10 for a pot of green tea consisting of 1 tea bag & boiling water! Restaurant prices are astronomical for very basic food. Better food for less on Cote D'Azur... Very uncomfortable bed & no aircon

Staff were excellent especially the lady who manages the hotel. Couldn't fault her as she couldn't do enough for us.
The en-suit was poor. The door couldn't close because the door was warped. There was only a bath with a short shower hose and no wall bracket to mount the shower head.

Madame is very hands-on and invariably charming and helpful. The pool is good (rare in the Pyrenees) in a well-kept garden. Excellent breakfasts (French, not buffet-style) with delicious patisserie. The chef knows his ingredients, and uses them well. The free WiFi works very well. I've been back several times, and hope to go again.
What's not to like - unless you want blaring nightlife, in which case, why are you in the foothills of the Pyrenees anyway?
